Role Purpose
The purpose of this role is to enhance the range and quality of teaching, both online and on campus at undergraduate and postgraduate level as part of the psychology team at QMU. The post holder will be expected to contribute to high quality research-based teaching in psychology with a focus on cognitive psychology and contribute to the growing profile and reputation of the psychology team through engaging in relevant, high-quality research. The postholder will be expected, as part of this role to carry out administrative and pastoral duties concomitant with the role of Lecturer and to act as Personal Academic Tutor as required. As lecturer in psychology in a growing division, the post holder will also be expected to collaborate with colleagues in sociology, public sociology and education and to work across the disciplines on existing or new cross-disciplinary endeavours, with a specific focus on extending quantitative methods teaching across all of those disciplines.

Located within the School of Arts, Social Sciences and Management, the Division of Psychology, Sociology and Education presently hosts a range of undergraduate programs including: BSc (Hons) Psychology; BSc (Hons) Psychology and Sociology; BSc (Hons) Public Sociology; BA Education Studies (Primary) (Hons) (Primary); BA (Hons) Education Studies. Postgraduate programmes within the division include an MRes, PGDE (Home Economics) and PGCert in Public Sociology.
